I read Lusty Little Women for the lulz because it was on the actual shelf at my library. I was fully expecting it to be terrible, so I can't say that it didn't meet my expectations. I read The Discarded Image: An Introduction to Medieval and Renaissance Literature. In spite of adoring the Narnia books, I haven't really read any of C. S. Lewis's other books. I read The Messenger of Athens, which is the first of a series of mysteries set in (modern) Greece, because a friend of mine saw the author speak in England. I enjoyed it and have placed holds on the rest of the books in the series.

I read Marmee and Louisa: The Untold Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Mother, which was really good, especially for Abba May's pre-marriage life. I listened to Five, Six, Seven, Nate!, which won an Odyssey Honor for best audiobook. It is, indeed, very well read by the author, who is obviously also a huge theatre geek. I read The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, a book I've been meaning to read since back when it was published and much buzzed about.
